This resource provides an overview of strategy instruction including practical examples of utilizing strategy instruction across various disciplines and content areas such as reading, writing, and math. It also provides useful references to learn more in-depth information about each of the strategies presented.
This resource can facilitate the strengthening of instruction in all content areas for implementation of the College and Career Ready Standards (including Common Core State Standards) for struggling students and students with disabilities by teaching them to use the same tools and techniques used by efficient learners to understand and learn new material or skills. This resource can also support broader school improvement efforts, including the implementation of School Improvement Grants (SIG), by facilitating the acceleration of basic reading and mathematics skills and supporting students with disabilities.
